Boys Advance Tournament
Brandon Lewis won the tournament capping off his 8th Boy’s advanced singles wins. Brandon is 13 years old and has many years and inches ahead of him. He is one of the Tennis Prep kids and we expect a lot from him in the coming years.
Chris Mack pulled upset after upset defeating two time champion Arnell McCurdy then previous champion Bradford Smith, 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) respectively. Chris Mack and Bradford Smith are seniors this year.
Arnell McCurdy is 13 years old and is also on the Tennis Prep team.
Basant Singh made the Semi-finals. He is in his first year of high school.
The year end #1 player for the Summer 2007;
Bradford Smith edged out Brandon Lewis by 1.1 points in our rankings computations. Basant Singh, Arnell McCurdy, and Chris Mack round out our top five Boy’s advanced players.

Girls Advance Tournament
Asia Bozeman won her fifth tournament of the year and finished #1 ranked girls advanced player of the Summer 2007. Asia is a freshman at High School for Environmental Studies. Nicolette Smikle made the finals but could not continue and withdrew.
Alyson Lopez a senior at Edward R Morrow high school made the semi-finals. Alyson finished the year ranked in the top ten of the girls advanced rankings.
Georgia Acevado is a senior this year winning her first round match in a tie-break versus Mareva Jabouin succumbing to eventual champion Asia Bozeman.
Sofia Oluwole is a graduating senior this year currently attending high school and is ranked #3 in our girls advanced division.
Azriel Shields, 13 years old, is one of the Tennis Prep kids and ranked in the top ten.
Allie Jackson-Hing is 12 years old with four advanced girls tournament wins. She ends her 2007 Youth & Tennis summer series ranked #2.

Boys Intermediate Tournament
Kyler Kilgore, Miguel Aguda, Patrick Aguda, and Atkins Simon all in the hunt for the year end #1 ranking, this final tournament determines the final outcome of each player.
The Aguda brothers Miguel and Patrick in opposite ends of the draw never had the chance to play against each other with Patrick losing in the quarters and Miguel ousted in the semis.
Atkins Simon had a good run to the finals falling to the eventual champion.
Kyler Kilgore lost in the semis.
Casey Russell won the final season ending singles tournament. Casey is a graduate of Youth & Tennis and is attending Fashion Institute of Technology.
Omari Greene 12 years old and is also on the Tennis Prep team with a wicked topspin forehand stroke. He is ranked in the top 10.
Marvin Gilbert battled Jonathan Miller in the first round winning 6-4. Only 11 years old Marvin was promoted to the intermediate tournament group and is hanging in the middle of the teenage heavy division. We expect his game to mature nicely.
The year end #1 Boy’s intermediate player for the Summer 2007;
Kyler Kilgore is our #1 Boy’s intermediate player edging out Atkins Simon (#2) by 0.3 points in our rankings computations.

Girls Intermediate Tournament
Brittany Guillaume, 12 years old, seeded #4 in the tournament, edged out newcomer Yazmin Neita, and Melissa Grandison before beating Tshani Mitchell in the finals.
The year-end #1 player for the Summer 2007;
Tshani Mitchell - Tshani, our 13 year old lefty is also part of the Tennis Prep team and has been very successful in improving her tennis game.
Mareva Jabouin – 2007 Year-end ranking - #2. Mareva is 16 years old attending high school
Melissa Grandison - 2007 Year-end ranking - #4
Brianna Williams – 9 year old phenomenon playing up from the 11’s with a record of 3-4 in the intermediates and a perfect 13-0 in the 11’s. She has a 2007 year-end ranking #5
Camille Charles-Pierre 13 years old is a member of the tennis prep team. Ranked during the summer as high as #4 finished the season ranked #10.
