League Rules
Format (in order):

One set of boys’ doubles

1.
Teams participating in the Metro Region USA Team Tennis Winter League
must consist of a minimum roster of three boys and three girls, and a maximum of
ten players
2.
Teams must have at least two girls and two boys available to play on
match day
3.
No player on a team may play 3 events during an individual match
4.
Sectional and National ranked players must play in the advanced
levels

Any infraction of this rule will result in forfeiture of all
games won by that player
5.
Players must remain age eligible through August 31 of the championship
year to be eligible for advancement opportunities. (For example, a player
in the 14-and-under group who turns 15 on September 1st would be able
to advance to national play with his/her advancing team. This same player who
turns 15 on August 15th could not compete at the national events.)
RULES OF PLAY (League play and championships)
- Matches will be in round-robin format.
- Matches will be first to four games using no-ad scoring.
A 9 point tie-breaker will be played at three games all.
- Cumulative game scoring will determine the match winner.
If the total number of games results in a tie, the mixed doubles team will
play a 9 point tie-breaker to decide the match winner.
- Should there be a tie at the end of either League play
or the Championships, head-to-head competition will decide the winner.
- Default Rules—USTA lateness default rules will be used.
- NO substitutes will be allowed to roster once
roster has been placed on Tennislink
- On court coaching is allowed between changeovers only
and only by the designated coach.
- Coaches/captains must exchange line-ups before the
overall team match begins.
- NO player substitutions may be made once a match
has begun
- Match play is continuous
- Coaches/captains must sign official score sheets upon
match completion
- Scores must be reported to the League Coordinator no
later than 9pm the night of the match.
- In the event a match cannot be played (inclement
weather), the match must be rescheduled before the Saturday immediately
following the date of the scheduled match. It is the responsibility of the two
coaches, or other designated adult, to coordinate the make-up match and report
the changes to the League Coordinator. NO match can be played after
the Saturday immediately following the scheduled match without the League
Coordinators permission.
- In order for players to advance to the next level of
play (sectionals) players must:
- be placed on a teams original roster
- be registered on Tennislink
- compete in a minimum of two league matches
