Youth and Tennis Doubles
This year's winter indoor season will concentrate on doubles play. Doubles play improves first serve percentage, volleys, overheads, and most importantly strategy.
USA Team tennis (Youth) is a program of team practice and match play for boys and girls, ages 8 to 18, who are competitive qualified and want to play on tennis teams.
Teams are comprised of players from similar age and skill, and they compete against other teams from the
same geographic region in one of three league divisions: 18 & under, 16 & under, and 12 & under.
The coaches will be evaluating all of the advanced players and select the Team for this coming season.
We will compete against other clubs in the Metropolitan area.
In 2003/2004 we won the Metro region which Qualified our team to compete in the State Championship
at Schenectady NY. Last year our teams made the city championships.

This past summer we sponsored 60 separate Boys and Girls singles tournaments. The results are tabulated into rankings which is then posted weekly. These rankings are based on the most recent five tournament results and overall win percentage. Statistics are also posted to encourage interest and motivation. Year end rankings are recognized.

USTA Tournament Play
All children must apply to the USTA for membership to enter these tournaments.
Discuss with your coach as to which tournaments would best benefit your child.
Youth and Tennis would appreciate the tournaments results to track the progress of your
child's tennis development with these events.
